Thomas Leabhart specializes in the field of physical theater and in the use of the body as a means of expression. In 2000, Liminal collaborated with Leabhart and Reed College to present a workshop and performance that highlighted his technique and artistry. Leabhart is a professor at Pomona College and the editor of Mime Journal, an internationally distributed publication devoted to mime and movement theatre. He lectures and teaches in the United States, Canada, and Europe and is the author of Modern and Post-Modern Mime as well as many journal and encyclopedia articles. After several years of work and training with Leabhart, Liminal Movement Director Amanda Boekelheide invited him to Portland for this workshop and performance. The workshop took place at Reed, as did Leabhart’s performance demonstration at Kaul Auditorium.
