John Berendzen

Co-founder, music director

John Berendzen furnishes live and recorded sound for all Liminal productions. He has received four Portland Drama Critics’ Circle Awards for his sound design and music direction. John is heavily involved in Portland’s theatre, music, dance, and visual arts communities as a composer, sound designer, actor, and installation artist. An electronic technician, he has created custom hardware and software for media control and audience interactivity.

John received his training in music and recording at Trinity University under Dr. Timothy Kramer. For the last several years he has been studying Indian vocal singing with composer Terry Riley. John is currently single.
